Christ my Sweet Peace, E.O.

I have known the Lord for ten years. Since I was born I have lived in a Christian home; when I was twelve, I recognized the Lord Jesus as my Savior and I received Him as my life (John 3:15-16).

As I mentioned before, I was born in a Christian home with three brothers and one sister in Puerto Rico. I learnt in my home that God exists and that this God had to be the center of my life. My parents always loved the Lord above everything; they depended on Him to make any decision.

Growing up in such a home and attending the church meetings at the age of twelve I realized my personal need to receive the Lord into my spirit to receive salvation and to have Christ in me (Colossians 1:27).

After receiving Christ into my spirit, I remember my mother telling me that I was different because I had Jesus living in me. At that time I did not understand this fact in a clear way because it was so new to me. I continued my daily living knowing that I had received salvation, but I did not know how to experience taking Christ in my daily living.

During my high school years I experienced Christ living in me. It was because of this peace within that He provided me that I could make many decisions during my youth (Romans 8:6). The sense of life and the peace inside of me kept me from many negative situations and kept me in fellowship with the believers.

Today, I know that Christ is a real Person not just because other people say so but also because I have experienced Him as my sweet peace, my life, and my guide (John 14:6). His life in me is what guides me to love Him and to live according to His will (1 John 1:19; Romans 12:2). Such a life is Himself.
